Sunshine Hotel

Happy New Month my amazing friends! 😀 Whoa, can you believe it’s October already?! September was a bit of a whirlwind, so I hope you are refreshed & ready for us to take on October with gusto!? 😀

If you are not feeling it yet, not to worry! Take a deep breath & smile as we explore more of Kericho! 🙂

Kericho is a quiet, polite town, and no matter where you stay you’ll feel a great ease and calm take over you… This proved true for us when we stayed at Sunshine Hotel -Upperhill!

The Best of Kericho’s Business Hotels: Sunshine Hotel

Located at the heart of Kericho town, Sunshine hotel is arguably the best business hotel in Kericho. It is hard to miss, as you’ll see their signage driving into Kericho town, on the Nakuru-Kericho highway.

With two properties in Kericho, Sunshine Hotel -Upperhill is the most recent. They’ve adopted a modern building style for Sunshine Hotel -Upperhill making it look like up-scale apartments.

Sunshine Hotel’s Customer Service Is King!

Whoever coined the phrase ‘Customer service is King’, must have had Gabrielle of Sunshine Hotel in mind! 😀 And no, I am not ‘just saying’ this… 🙂

When I reached out to Gabrielle, the Hotel Manager,  about a possible stay, he was super kind and helpful. On the day of our arrival, we were warmly received, making us feel right at home. 🙂

Moreover, he helped change our check-in dates on short-notice, when one of the places we had planned to visit fell through.

That same spirit was felt in our interactions with the rest of their staff throughout our entire stay at Sunshine hotel. 🙂

A Night to Remember: The Most Comfortable Beds!

When we checked into our rooms, it was quite late at night… Not to mention, we’d had to change our check-in dates at the last minute… Hence, it was a wonderful surprise to discover a gorgeous room awaiting!  It was both modest and comfortable, feeling a lot like a safe haven.

The trickiest part about travel for me is sleeping in new beds. Day one is normally spent wide awake, sleep-chasing, tossing and turning… I was thrilled when I woke up the next morning at Sunshine, having slept through the entire night! Oh the joy! 😀

They have a wide array of rooms to choose from, catering to your needs and budget. Their prices range from about Kes. 4,500 to Kes. 15,000.

Our friends were able to check-in the next day without prior bookings; it’s also a convenient choice for business people passing through the town.

P.S. They have a strict rule on ‘no admission of unwedded couples’. For couples, you’ll be required to provide proof of marriage…

Lunching in the Garden…

The best surprise for me was the garden restaurant at Sunshine Hotel. It provides a lovely break from the business side of the hotel.

At lunch time, we had a somewhat easy time choosing what to eat- fish of course! 😀 Our server was patient with us, as we debated on the accompaniments… 😀

Being out in the garden, we had the freedom to dig in & get dirty, while at it! As I write this, I can almost taste it in my mouth… To say the least, it was divine! 🙂

Destination-Conference Facilities

Sunshine Hotel has a great variety of Conference rooms with modern facilities for hire. It is a good option if you are looking for a destination-conference center in Kericho.

Dining Area…

With the vast garden, it also makes for a good wedding reception venue, and group team-building activities. There is a small children’s play area for people visiting with their kids.

I have passed Kericho mainly on transit duties, if I happen to land there for a night or two then sunshine hotel-upperhill Kericho will be my choice of hotel for staying. Love how the rooms look as well the ambience in the garden would be relasking to say the least.

Thanks for giving us the best option while in Kericho for the night.
