Taking Stock November: Happy World Kindness Day!

Lifestyle
World Kindness Day

Happy World Kindness Day & Week beautiful people! 😀 Today, I would love for us to take a small breather from our Travel Posts, to Take Stock and check in with each other… 🙂

And what better time to pause, than on World Kindness Week, right? So, how are you doing? Are you coping well with life…?

But First… What is World Kindness Day?

World Kindness Day, is marked annually, on 13th November as a day when the world celebrates good deeds and promotes acts of kindness.

It was first launched in 1998, by the World Kindness Movement, at a Conference in Tokyo, Japan. And though it’s not officially recognized by all Nations, I believe that it has the potential to make a difference in our hurting world.

You might have noticed from the News, or even in social platforms that the prevalence of suicides, cyber bullying and depression is on the rise…

I can’t help but think, that we need more kindness; not just on  World Kindness Day, but every single day.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted ~ Aesop

What Can I Do? What Can We Do?

My aim still stands- to make this platform on Scrapbook Journeys a safe, inspiring space…

I understand that life can get really heavy sometimes, and we’re all dealing… Whatever you are going through, I want you to know- you are not alone. 🙂

Honestly, I have my moments too. But having a core circle of people that you can reach out to, helps. Look around, is there someone who might need a hand?

It doesn’t have to be much… A kind word, or thoughtful act could mean the world to someone. 🙂

Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give ~ Unknown

5 Random Acts Of Kindness We Can Practice Today…
  1. Call up someone you haven’t talked to in a while, listen and leave them encouraged…
  2. Smile at a stranger in the street, or at a child on the bus.
  3. Say thank you to a Security guard
  4. Buy food for a homeless person
  5. Leave a thank you note for your colleagues/employees

>> Feel free to add to the list of Random Kindness Acts, on the Comments’ section below, as we challenge ourselves to choose the path of kindness… 🙂

With that said, let’s swing into the quirky side of our Taking Stock Post… 😀

Taking Stock: November 2018

Buying: Less. Learning to live within my means is an art I’m truly trying to master. 🙂

Craving: A nice, juicy, meaty French Connection Burger from Urban. Goodness, why can’t cravings play in the healthy-food zone? Does anyone even ever crave a salad?

Deciding: To see the good in every situation! 🙂

Drinking: Sweet peppermint tea whenever I travel! I’ve made peace with the fact that trying to get find good black tea is a lost cause.

Eating: More home-cooked meals lately…

Enjoying: Walking regularly with my friends, and setting new goals each time we do…

Feeling: Excited that December is nearly upon us! Minus the commercializing of Christmas, it really is my favorite time of year! 🙂

Learning: Spanish and Korean on this cool App called Duolingo! You can learn different languages at the same time for FREE! Give it a try amigos!

Looking: For a mentor in the Creative Space… Do you have a mentor? How did you identify them?

Listening: To The School of Greatness Podcast by Lewis Howes.  There’s a specific episode featuring LeAnn Rimes on ‘Music, Meditation and Mindfulness’ that has set me straight today… Listen and let me know what you think.  😉

Making: A gratitude list every morning and evening before bed… Still a work in progress.

Marveling: At how God works and also how a little kindness goes a long way. 🙂

Missing: My MUM! Need to make more time for mother-daughter moments. When did you last call your folks…? Let’s do better together, yes? 😀

Noticing: How nice it feels to have short hair again!

Tip:

>>If you want the ultimate Barber hook-up, check out George Dafunda on Instagram.

Needing: A new laptop. My sweet ol’ Aspire One Netbook has long outlived its lifetime and is testing my patience more and more by the day! Heaven hear me now… 🙂

Playing: Around with the idea of how to give my place a makeover, on a budget! Know of any affordable places? 🙂

Reading: A lot of Devotionals on the YouVersion Bible App. It’s completely FREE and they have a devotional on nearly every topic under the sun!

Also, just started reading ‘Becoming‘ by Michelle Obama. This Memoir gives a reflective look into her life growing up, and as First Lady in the White House. Sure promises to be a great read!

Sorting: Through my wardrobe… It’s that time of year again! Would love to do a clothes’ drive in December. If you are interested in partnering up, or know a deserving Children’s Home, shoot an email to me, via my Contact Form  and let’s spread some kindness. 🙂

Wanting: To learn how to swim, for real this time. 😀

Tip:

>>I found a Swim Trainer, and would be happy to share her with you! 😀

Watching: The Ace Family on YouTube! That family is the definition of ‘cuteness overload’! Plus it’s a great way to decompress!

Wishing: For a new laptop. Oh wait, I said that already didn’t I? 😀

Working: On being more consistent with putting out blog posts. Thank you for bearing with me, I appreciate you! 🙂

Wondering: Why the chicken crossed the road! Guess we’ll never find out huh? 😀

Thank you for reading my dear friends! I hope you’re inspired to make each day a World Kindness Day!

I think I should also take a look at my year make and set goals like you have (Amen to that laptop prayer)

On consistency seems its a challenge to many but I know its the words that become an uphill task (as for me I have never denied English is still a problem to me)

Above all as usual great write up you did there, go on doing the great work
