‘It’s the little things that citizens do. That’s what will make the difference. My little thing is planting trees.~ Wangari Maathai
Hello my friends! 😀 As I consider Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai’s words, I can’t help asking- What is my little thing; what is your little thing? Aren’t we all responsible for making a difference?
Today, my little thing is sharing these gorgeous photos of Kenya and hopefully to remind us that Kenya is worth standing up for. 🙂
I could easily share these 21 pictures of Kenya, and rave about how my beautiful country is, and why you should visit and/or travel local. But I want us to do things a little differently today.
Sometimes we live in bubble of our own making, or so I have come to realize…. We fail to remember just how blessed we are, and we can take our Magical Kenya for granted. We assume it will always be like this. Perhaps we do not realize that our very words and actions could lay our country to waste.
In doing this ‘little thing’, I hope you will see, really see #MyKenya; the country I experience as we explore various Kenyan destinations.
#MyKenya is indeed a beautiful country with magnetic landscapes and ethereal ocean views. We have some of the best National Parks in Africa, if not the world.
My people are resilient and hardworking. When we are happy, you can tell because our faces glow with pride for our country. In times of national disasters, we unite and help each other, regardless of tribe or race. We are a learned people, so we understand that we deserve the best from a thriving economy, based on a foundation of peace.
I encourage you to work with integrity and transparency for the common good, and to foster a spirit of solidarity at every level of society. ~ Pope Francis.
This is the Kenya I want to protect and preserve. A country that stands up for its own. That, I believe, is a country worth writing about; because if we don’t preserve our Magical Kenya and its cultures, I won’t have much to write about…. sad, but true.
Instead, let us tell a better narrative; a narrative of peace and standing up for Kenya. I hope you will start to consider ‘What is my little thing,’ and do it. And if you are visiting or planning to visit #MyKenya, this is what you don’t want to miss out on….> So, here goes my little thing! 🙂

January 19, 2018 at 9:17 pm#MyKenya for many times on my travel words have been short in description of the beauty that is on this country.
but you brought out some of the beauty and how I wish many Kenyans can share such pictures on their social media platforms rather than sharing news on Man U, Arsenal and others.
keep doing your great work

Very timely and on point this blog.
Indeed my magical kenya is a place worth being and we as a people must protect it and show the goodness to the whole wide world.
My little thing is promoting tourism and fitness by organizing outdoor adventures and excursions to all.
