Happy New Month my lovelies! ๐ How is your year coming along so far?
If we are to smash our 2018 goals (and we will) we have to set up a good foundation, right? ๐
*Truth Moment…
As 2017 was drawing to a close, I began feeling mad anxiety about not having set my 2018 goals or resolutionsโฆ I felt clueless on where to start.
Thankfully I chanced upon a couple of resources that have been helping me along… I am thrilled to share in form of these 5 Habits! ๐
5 Healthy Habits To Help Smash Your 2018 Goals!
Win Yourself First: Morning Routine
Do your mornings ever feel like a wild Tornado just cruised through your house? Until recently, that’s how most of my days began… #yikes
Unfortunately, we often wake up to negative thoughts like unfulfilled to-do lists or past mistakes. (brain negativityย bias)
This combination greatly affects how we approach our goals.
As a man thinketh, so he shall be ~ James Allen
Creating a healthy Morning Routine is a splendid way to start your day feeling empowered and purposeful. ๐
Moreover, it reigns in the power of your thoughts when you’re most creative and alert.
I’ve noticed positive changes in my mood and overall productivity as a result of my routine. ๐
Here’s what my current Morning Routine looks like:-
*Wake up earlier
Puts you in better control of your day…
*Spend quiet time praying and giving thanks
Gratitude has a way of making us feel like weโve already won life over.
*Set & visualize priorities for the day with positive affirmations
*Write at least 750 Words (while taking warm water)
This helps clear my mind of clutter and works to build on the practice of writing daily.
Consider keeping a daily Journal. ๐
*Exercise, Do Yoga or Take a Walk for 10-30 Minutes
*Shower
*Listen to a Podcast or inspirational video while taking breakfast.
*Ready to face the day purposefully. ๐
What works for me, may not be for you, and that’s okay. ๐ Find what fits well with your schedule and incorporate it into your Morning Routine.

ย Ask Yourself These 4 Questions & Create A Vision Board
The goals-setting process can be quite scary right?
I love this lesson from Todd Henry of the Accidental Creative Podcast. He suggests making it practical by asking oneself these 4 questions:
What do I want to experience?
What do I want to learn?
Where do I want to go?
How do I want to change?
Your goals should be in alignment with your greatest beliefs & desires ~ Lisa Nichols
I found this useful because it helped to:
i. Figure out my 2018 priorities;
ii. Write down my goals;
iii. Makes it easier to review regularly
Furthermore, your answers will inform where to focus your attention and energies in 2018.
*Come up with an action plan by breaking down your answers into small, bite-sized goals.
*Finally create a Vision Board that reflects your answers (goals) and personality…
Hang it up in a prominent part of your house, where you’ll see it everyday & visualize your goals. ๐
*Review your progress on an ongoing basis

Learn Something New Daily!
I’ve heard many successful people say that the key to success is to โnever stop learningโ.
There’s something beautiful & powerful about developing new interests that are outside of your day job.
It keeps the brain challenged & growing, plus it’s rewarding to the soul.
*Try new things: Learn something practical. Take online classes. Read a book on strange subjects like Astronomy… It doesnโt have to cost a dime! ๐
I believe that winning in these small ways, helps to keep us motivated towards our big goals. ๐

Take Up Photography…Maybe?
Celebrate Every Win: Big or Small!
We easily get caught up with achieving the โbig goalsโ that we miss out on our progress…
Iโm learning that a truly happy life is about making progress, and not about perfection…
*Review your progress regularly and when you achieve any of your goals, CELEBRATE!
Sometimes you might accomplish your goals in a different way than expected, so keep an open mind… ๐
For instance, one of my January goals was to write at least 750 Words daily for practice. ( I completed 23days)
Though I didn’t hit my ultimate goal of 31 days, I wrote over 27,000 words in total. Meaning I actually surpassed the initial goal of 23,250 Words.ย *excuse my geek moment* ๐
I’m now looking forward to rewarding myself with a movie treat, as I raise the bar even higher this February. ๐
*Random Tip: It’s super cheap to watch movies on Weekday mornings at the Cinemas. ๐
Have Fun While At It!
Listen, life is short. So we might as well have fun while at it, right?
*Your 2018 goals are not a death sentence. Get off your phone, spend qualityย time with family and friends… Find your own unique ways to enjoy the process… ๐
Cheers to you for reading my dear friend! I appreciate you. ๐
Did you find this helpful? Or perhaps you have something to add to the list?ย I would love to read from you!
Also, don’t keep this post to yourself… Share with your friends, family & colleagues, and let’s Smash our 2018 goals together!
