Happy Women’s Day! 😀 Today, we pause our Travel stories to Take Stock & celebrate all the beautiful women that grace this earth, in heaven & those yet to come… 🙂
Why The International Women’s Day?
Men, don’t leave just yet! 😉 We all have women in our lives, be it our mothers, grandmas, sisters, nieces, daughters, girlfriends, wives….
Even our good ol’ overbearing aunties who’ll never tire of pointing out the ticking clock, asking: ‘utatuletea kamtu lini? (when will you bring us a husband/wife)? 😀
It’s all love. 🙂
Since it’s inception in 1910, the International Women’s Day has stood for, among many things, the protection of women’s rights to work, vote, against violence and to honor women’s achievements.
As we honor each other & the women in our lives, let’s stand up for & protect ‘us’ from discrimination, violence & assault. It starts with me and you. 🙂
Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength ~ G.D. Anderson
Taking Stock: Of Hot Yoga & Powerful Women!
Buying: Into the idea of saving and budgeting. It’s been a weakness*
Craving: A humorous read by an African writer.
I’ve had Wangari Maathai’s Biography for a while now, but somehow haven’t gotten round to reading it…
But I’m craving something comical & lighthearted for now… Any recommendations? 😀
Drinking: Black ginger tea with a hint of Nutmeg. #Yum! 😀
Enjoying: Hot Yoga! It’s been a loong time coming! Glad I finally got the courage to commit, after months of wishful thinking… 😀
Hot Yoga or Bikram Yoga involves partaking a 90 minute class of 26 Yoga poses, in a heated room at 40 degrees Celsius.
Whoa guys, the class is intense!! You sweat so hard that your body feels like it’s melting off… And boy have I been tempted to give up!
But I love that there’s no judgement or competitiveness. It’s all you on your mat, doing your best & stretching your limits every day. Plus all the Yoga instructors are amazing!

If you are interested, hit me up on the Comments’ Section below, or send me an email via my Contact Form.
Feeling: Thankful for my family. They are my blessing. 🙂
Following: My instincts on life, love and business.
Learning: To be more grateful. Recently realized from personal experience that “your worst day could easily be someone’s dream come true.”
Looking: For recommendations on where to get nice ankle boots…? 😀
Listening: To Robin Sharma’s Mastery Sessions’ podcast, titled: 5 Leadership Lessons My Mentors Have Taught Me.’
My favorite line goes something like:
‘Run your own race! Stay in your lane. You have no competition if you stay in your own division. Come up with your own vision…and stay true to it.’
Making: The best of each day & resources at hand.
Missing: Out on the Wakanda experience! Feels like I’m the only person in Nairobi who hasn’t watched it?! I know that’s a bit over the top… 😀
If you haven’t watched Black Panther leave a comment down below, perhaps we ‘late bloomers’ can make a date of it, yes? 😀
Noticing: That my style is evolving…
I used to be a ‘Converse All Day, Every day’ type of girl. I still love comfort, so no heels for me yet. 😛
But, overall I’m curious to discover what my style is becoming… 🙂
Needing: More boots & coats to brave this weather! Never mind that it’s sunny today. Lol 😀
Also, why is it that when it’s hot you feel like you have more sweaters, & when it’s rainy most of your outfits seem better-suited for summer?
I think there’s a little ghost that hides our clothes, depending on the weather. No? 😀
Pet Peeve: The cloth-hiding ghost! *refer to above comment 😀
Playing: Sunrise by Kygo Ft. Jason Walker on loop.
*insert dancing emoji 😀
Reading: ‘A Clash of Kings’ by George R. Martin. I haven’t hit my goals of 2 books a month yet… Oops! 😀
How do you squeeze in time for reading books?
Sorting: Through my closet. Okay this was weeks ago. But it was still so therapeutic! 🙂
Do you wear everything in your wardrobe?
My sister & I challenged ourselves to clean out our closets of what we don’t wear anymore. I’m not a hoarder, but I found items I haven’t worn in over 3 years, yikes!
It feels good especially if something you don’t wear might be exactly what someone else needs… Try it! 😀
Wanting: To travel more… It never stops! 😀
Sounds crazy, but I really want to travel to 10 countries this year! So help me God. 😀 1 down, 9 to go!
*Pray me well* 🙂
Watching: An inspiring video compiled by Evan Carmichael: The Top 50 Rules for Women Entrepreneurs
I love that it features women from diverse careers & their rules for success apply across the gender divide. 🙂
Wishing: That men and women would celebrate each other’s strengths more.
Every one of us can make a contribution. Something. Just imagine the power of what we can do. ~Wangari Maathai.
Working: On my ugali cooking skills. *No judgements 😀
