Hello my friends! π I dare say that Park Inn by Radisson, qualifies for the ‘Best of Nairobi’ series, thanks to their thoughtful customer service and exceptional dining experiences…
Are you curious? Read Along! π
A few weeks ago, I got a call from Mercy, of Park Inn by Radisson, about a potential visit… Admittedly, I felt excited by the prospect of a quick getaway right here in Nairobi!
You do not have to go far away to travel ~Our Travel Mantra.
How to Get To Park Inn by Radisson
Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi, is part of the sophisticated Radisson Collection of Hotels, with strategic locations around the world.
It’s located in Westlands, off Waiyaki Way, about 15 minutes from the CBD and 30-45 minutes from the Airport (JKIA).
The Park Inn by Radisson Experience: From Business to Staycation! Β
Warm, smiling and cheerful Security Guards ushered me through the great, glass doors that lead to the hotel lobby.
I promptly noticed how the atmosphere within Park Inn By Radisson is almost otherworldly. π
Any thoughts of the noisy, dusty streets littered with Matatus easily fade away into oblivion…
Instead, you melt into calming music, gently absorbed by a vibrant burst of bright colors that uplift your spirits ever so effortlessly…
At the reception, I met Benedict who looked rather joyful at his post!
His mood was infectious, as he took my details and showed me to my room on the 8th floor… I felt thrilled, as the higher you go, the better the views, no?! π
Stylish & Elegant Accommodations
With a total of 140 rooms at Park Inn by Radisson, you can choose from either the Superior or the Standard room.
I instantly fell in love with my room, with its chic decor and floor-to-ceiling windows that afford sweeping views of the city.
The rooms come ready with lounge chairs, working desk, a spacious closet, a password-operated safe for your valuables, and lavish bathroom essentials.
I especially liked how the bed is fitted with colored lighting, sprucing up the room’s ambiance…
Tip>> You can change the bedβs lighting, to suit your mood and preference.
The Attic: Rooftop Bar and Pool
Having settled in, I wandered to where they have a Rooftop bar, called The Attic…
They have Happy Hour every day on draft beer and selected cocktails. But for a teetotaler like me, it gets a little tricky… So I put the barman, Sebastian, to my first βunspoken test.’ π
I requested him to make a non-alcoholic cocktail that would knock my socks off! He accepted this challenge gracefully…
I must say, he passed the test; the Virgin cocktail he prepared was a lemony delight!Β And these city views are more precious lounging by the pool, with a zesty cocktail in handβ¦ π
Relaxed Night-In With Spectacular Room Service!
Confession: I live for room service! Isn’t it one of the best parts about staying at a hotel? π
I retired to my room for the evening, to relax and order-in room service… Uncertain of what to have, I called up my sister for help! (Thank God for family, ay?! π )
We settled on the Whole Sticky Barbecue Pork Rack, with a side of Sweet Fries.
Goodness me!! I thoroughly enjoyed how the pork was both honeyed & spicy, sliding easily off the bone⦠And the sweet fries -simply delectable!
For dessert, I ordered a Dawa (Hot Lemon and Ginger, with honey) to balance the sweet-tasting Tiramisu. It was a pleasant wonder!
Though I love big windows, I canβt sleep well with the blinds openβ¦ And as it happened, one of the curtains in my room got stuck.
I rang Housekeeping for help. Much to my surprise, they showed up at my door with a ladder and everything!
I felt genuinely touched by how they went out of their way to fix the curtain, way past 9 p.m.!Β Seriously- is that next-level efficiency or what?
Needless to say, the rest of my night was pure bliss! π
Bright & Bountiful Breakfast!
The next morning, I woke up early hoping to catch the sunrise, but the sun had other ideas. So I stopped by their well-equipped gym for a quick stretchβ¦
Having worked up a healthy appetite, breakfast sounded heavenly!
A bright blue, country-style bicycle, laden with fresh fruits welcomes you into the restaurant, hinting on the goodies to comeβ¦ π
Their breakfast buffet has everything you could ever ask for: cereal, freshly baked bread, sliced fruits, fresh juice… Plus a live cooking station for eggs or pancakesβ lovers! Yum!Β π
Lucy, who’s ever armed with a sunny smile, is a star! She was always at hand, with helpful suggestions making lone-dining a lot more interesting. π
The Epitome of Good Service: Dessert for Days!
I spent the rest of my morning getting a feel of the hotel, and watching other guests float about…
And as I got ready to leave, I had one last meal on my mind- Lunch!
For the Starter, I chose their Seasonal organic soup of the day… It was a nice, thick tasty tomato soup, served with warm crusty bread.
Feeling adventurous, I decided to try the Pan Seared King Fish, served with prawns, mussel and saffron potatoes.
Turned out the mussels and prawns were a little more ‘adventure’ than I’d bargained for!
If you’re not a huge fan of seafood, you may want to steer clear of this one… But the Saffron potatoes were extremely flavorsome!

Yum O’clock!
The items on the dessert menu looked enticing, but I was craving something new, with ice cream in it… David, the server, patiently heard me out offering up potential ideas…
He then spoke to the Chef on my behalf… Taking up the challenge, the Chef prepared a special dessert for me, the Cassata ice cream cake! How so, so special indeed!
This single act, affirmed that Park Inn By Radisson is well-deserving of its accolades! And yes, the ice cream cake was to die for! π
