Best of Nairobi’s Burger Joints!!
Can you remember your first Burger experience? How was it…? I can’t recall when mine was, but I do remember that my first burger was nothing to write home about. 🙁
Back then, burgers were simple, flat-tasting beef patties with generous helpings of bland lettuce and tomatoes . To be honest, I couldn’t understand what the hype was all about…
Thankfully, these days Nairobi’s Burger Joints have upped their game, putting a lot more thought and creativity into it… And, hopefully after reading this post, you’ll find the one that knocks your socks off! 😀

Mama Rocks Gourmet Burgers
Located in Kilimani and Westlands, Mama Rocks is certainly the ‘mother’ of all African-inspired Burger recipes in Nairobi… It’s run by 2 sisters, Samantha and Natalie, who’ve put their heart and soul into it!
Also, from the Instagram feedback I got, Mama Rocks was the most popular of Nairobi’s Burger joints!

I think what probably sets Mama Rocks’ Burgers apart, is their homemade spicy sauces.
These distinct sauces will quickly transport you to hot-spicy Nigeria in West Africa, or usher you down-south to South Africa on a wild-tasting journey!
What To Order at Mama Rocks?
Lavendar Munagi and Mumbi Mutonga recommend the Mango Maasai Mama Burger. While Kirui recommends the Flaming Desmond Tutu.
The Fela Supafly is popular with chicken lovers, or try the Down & Durban if you’re looking for a good vegetarian option .

>>Prices range from Kes. 1,000 to Kes. 1,300. And all their burgers come with a side of Fries.
Urban Gourmet Burger
I think my first-ever memorable Burger experience was at Urban Gourmet Burger! It felt like a live party was going on in my mouth! 😀
Urban Gourmet have mastered the art of flavoring their beef patties, while also keeping the toppings interesting. Plus their Crazy Mondays, Buy 2 for 1, is always a plan!

They currently have outlets in most major shopping malls like Westgate, Garden City, Galleria, Capital Centre and Two Rivers.
What To Order at Urban?
Their French Connection Burger happens to be one of my favourite Burgers, thanks to the caramelized onions, & melting blue cheese. Yum! 😀
Stephanie, recommends you try The Big Hulk, which as you can guess from it’s name, is big enough to satiate a huge appetite!
They also have veggie options like the Falafel Burger.

>>Their prices range from Kes. 790 to Kes. 1,290, and all their burgers are accompanied with French Fries.
Burger Hut- Westlands
Have you ever felt like you’ve been missing out on something good, even though you didn’t even know it existed? That’s Burger Hut. 🙂
My Insta-friend, Gichuru, tells me that I am not ‘Old School’ enough because I’ve never been to Burger Hut…
Apparently, their Double Hut Burger is the best in East Africa, and I am keen to test this theory in the near future!

>>Their prices range from Kes. 460 to Kes. 1,040.
Sierra Burger and Wine
What started out as a Microbrewery, Sierra now boasts of two restaurants in Nairobi: Sierra Wine Bar and Grill at Yaya Centre, and Sierra Burger & Wine in Westlands.
From the tasteful ambiance to their delightful menu, you can tell that premium quality is top on their agenda.

What to Order?
They have an assortment of Gourmet Burgers for the meat and chicken lovers, and one veggie option- the Felafel Burger…
Mercy recommends you try the Original Beef Burger for a memorable experience! 🙂

Uncle Nene’s Kitchen
Uncle Nene’s Kitchen has now found its way to my bucket-list, thanks to Rachel Muthoni.
It’s best described as a Cloud Kitchen, because it is virtual and doesn’t have a physical location… They prepare the food at home for deliveries, unlike the typical restaurant setting.

What To Order??
I had a look at their online menu, and they’ve maintained the traditional Burgers like the Cheese Burger. They also have some interesting options like the French Toast Burger that’s worth a try. 🙂
>>Their prices range from Kes. 750 to Kes. 950
Other Must-Visit Nairobi’s Burger Joints:-

July 18, 2019 at 1:52 pmThe best burger I’ve ever had was at Double Tree Hotel by Hilton while in Zanzibar. I can’t forget that. I’ll try these other joints too but Double Tree burger already has occupied my heart.
