4 Fun Tips To Survive Working From Home!
I acknowledge that working from home looks different for everyone, and that’s okay…
It may be that some aspects of your business have closed down for the time being… Or perhaps you’re looking for a way to balanceย having the kids suddenly back, plus now working from home…
How do you still maintain productivity with these changes? Well, keep reading because there’s a little something here for everyone…

Establish a new routine to stay productive…
Suddenly working from home can make one feel like a fish out of water. I bet you’ve seen the funny memes and videos going around of babies and goats causing all kinds of mayhem…? ๐
Truth-be-told, working from home takes a bit of adjusting to… Here a few things you can do to make your process easier.
>>Start with creating a new routine that works for you and your situation… You might consider waking up earlier, or working late at night if you have toddlers.
>>Establish a working space that’s separate from your living area… This might be tricky if you have a smaller house.
However you can trick your brain into making the distinction, for instance, by not eating or watching TV in that part of the house… Instead, place your laptop and working material in that space and use it only for work.
>>If you have kids, set up a separate room for them to play and learn with toys, painting/drawing tools etc.

>> Plan and write down your day’s agenda the night before.
>> Minimize distractions, much as possible. Plan your workday into chunks of high-focused time, with healthy breaks in between.
>> Schedule your conference calls and virtual meetings for the afternoons or when you might feel less productive.
>> Shower! Yup I said it! You’ll feel tempted to work in your pajamas, but don’t get sucked into it. ๐
The fun part is that every day can be like Casual Friday! That tiny action of getting dressed, helps to switch your mind into work-mode. Plus you never know when the boss might request for an impromptu virtual meeting right? ๐
P.S. Remember to sanitize your working spaces frequently.
Unplug From The Madness & Plug into your support System
I’ve had to make a conscious decision to unplug from reading updates about the pandemic… Honestly, my mind was starting to feel like a full blown circus! Can you relate?
For us to be effective working from home, now’s the time to unplug…

Wanting to know what’s happening is normal… However, it can take over your entire life, rendering you more powerless.
>>So limit your time on social media and avoid partaking in negative conversations…
At the heart of it, we’re all yearning to connect and know that we are not alone.
>>Lean into your support system. As time goes by, you’ll start to miss conversations with your colleagues or hanging out with your friends. This is especially true for people who live alone.
>>Make up for the human connection by setting up virtual dates with your friends and family. And when you do, refrain from negative topics that leave you feeling helpless…
>>It’s good to talk about how you are feeling and the fears this situation may be bringing up.
You want to leave the conversations feeling positive and encouraged.
>>If you are home with your family, come up with fun ways to hangout like game nights, movie marathons, karaoke night and family devotionals…

>>Reach out to the people in your life and let them know you care. If we each do our part, we’ll get through this together. ๐
P.S. Don’t forget to wash your hands with soap frequently!
Keep Your Fitness Game Up!
Most gyms have closed down, so you may be feeling out of whack without your structured workout schedule and instructor.
You are in luck because YouTube is our friend! ๐ This will take a little more discipline, but your body will thank you for it!
Yoga is my favourite way to keep fit at home. I recommend Yoga With Adrienne on YouTube if you’d like to give yoga a try…
If yoga’s not your cup of tea, search ‘home workout videos’ on YouTube, and you’re sure to find something that works for you. ๐
