You see, when the year started I had all these content and travel plans that I was pretty excited about. Then Covid-19 happened!

Like with many people in the world, suddenly the future felt uncertain and my plans didn’t ‘fit in’… That got me feeling a little lost for a while. Perhaps you can relate?

I don’t know what changes you are facing in your life at the moment… But here’s what I do know- we are together in this. πŸ™‚

I invite you to make this tiny commitment with me: to maintain a positive outlook on life, the best we can, as we keep hope alive for after Covid-19. πŸ™‚

Top 10 Quarantine Activities To Kill Cabin Fever! Β

I recently asked you on Instagram and Facebook, for ideas on the kind of content you want to read at this time…

Today’s topic on Top 10 Quarantine Activities is inspired by two of my readers: Fred Ray and Miss Mercy! Thank you for your feedback! πŸ™‚

P.S. Remember to sanitize or wash your hands regularly with soap & water, for at least 20 seconds!Β

Family’s Got Talent- Home Edition!

What are your talents? Imagine putting together a talent show at home, where everyone gets to showcase their talents!

You’d spend time rehearsing for the big day and even compete for the best/worst dressed simply for the fun of it! If you’re home alone, you can do it virtually with friends. πŸ™‚

It’s sure to put everyone in a good mood, plus you might just discover new talents!

Try a DIY Project!!

Have you always wanted to try something like pottery, painting, braiding or even knitting? Well now’s a great time to get started on a DIY (Do It Yourself) project.

And it need not be expensive. Search DIY projects online and use what materials you have at home! It’d also make for a fun family activity. πŸ™‚

Movie Marathon! Β

Get everyone to choose their favourite movie and prepare your snacks in advance… Try mixing it up with a variety of themes like: comedies, drama, and classic films depending on your taste.

Then see how long you can keep your marathon going before the last person drops! πŸ˜€

Spring Cleaning!

You’ve probably noticed that as the days go by, your house is starting to feel smaller and more crowded than before…

One way to beat cabin fever is by cleaning up and getting rid of clutter.

Do a thorough house-cleaning and sort through your stuff. If some items no longer spark joy, let them go. You may want to sort them into piles for donation and/or throwing away. Enjoy the bliss! πŸ™‚

Virtual House Party!

What’s a more fun quarantine activity than a virtual house party?! πŸ˜€

I recently discovered House Party, a video chatting App, similar to Zoom. But on House Party, you can hang out with friends, play games & take quizzes together! Hence it’s more involving and fun!

P.S. There’s been some safety concerns with both Apps though, hence caution is advised.

Take A Walk!

It helps to go out, stretch your muscles and get some fresh air. Go for a walk around your neighborhood when it’s least crowded.

Whenever I go out for a walk, it makes a huge difference in my mood. πŸ™‚

>>Ensure you maintain physical distance from others, and wear a mask if you are likely to be in a crowded place.

Travel From The Comforts Of Home!

Wouldn’t it be fun to turn your house into a new destination every week…? πŸ˜€

Research a new country with your family and play trivia games on what you’ve learned… Then prepare destination-themed meals using online recipes! Task your kids with painting that country’s flag and hang it up in your house. πŸ™‚

Reading is becoming one of my favourite quarantine activities…

My friends and I started a virtual Book Club, and it’s been a highlight each week! πŸ™‚

It definitely helps to read with friends, so consider starting a virtual book club in your circle.

An excellent list, keeping the body and mind active in more ways than one while on quarantine. Indeed, as you mentioned, keeping a positive outlook is quite key. If you were to make a Kenyan version of a Taco, what would you make? Curious….

Thank you for reading, I am glad you find it useful! πŸ˜€ Haha, my Kenyan taco would definitely include our Kenyan-style chapo, in place of beans I would use a dash of scrambled eggs, chilli and lots of tomato sauce. Oh wait, that sounds more like the rolex from Uganda! πŸ˜€
