Before we get started, let’s check in…. How are you doing? Are you feeling positive about the New Year?

I remember vividly as the clock struck midnight and 2021 rolled in, fireworks went off and you could hear jubilant shouts in my neighborhood. One thought came to mind: this may be the most hopeful we’ve felt in a long while, and it’s refreshing!

And as we take on 2021, I’d love to extend this invitation to you once again- to come along on this journey with me… Together, let’s make 2021 great, shall we?

3 Free Resources for Setting Your 2021 Goals!

While reflecting on my 2021 Goals, I’ve had one persistent question in my mind: How do you win for the whole year? And is it possible?

From personal experience, I’ve noticed that it’s easy to start out strong, however, that motivation dissipates as the year progresses… Then disappointment breeds discouragement and soon enough, life feels lacklustre.

So how can we make this year different & win our 2021 Goals?

In pursuing the possible answers, I came across these free helpful goal-setting resources, that you’ll hopefully find useful in your own journey…

Take Stock With The Year Compass Tool

Many at times, we struggle with moving forward because of the events & ‘failings’ of the past.

The Year Compass is a tool that will enable you to take stock of your past year (both accomplishments and areas for improvement.) In so doing, you’ll get to make peace with, and release anything that might subconsciously sabotage your progress.

You’ll also find clarity on what you wish to focus on in the New Year.

For the past 2 years, I’ve used the Year Compass, and honestly, the clarity that the process provides is gold!

This year they’ve included an optional segment specific to 2020, to help process & unpack the effects of the pandemic on your life/goals.

Tip: Download the Year Compass 2021. Then set aside at least an hour of undisturbed time to go through your year compass.

Define Your 2021 Goals With The Goal Setting Workbook!

Setting our goals is one thing, but seeing them to completion is usually the challenging bit…

I discovered this free Goal-setting workbook by Generation Zen that is helpful in guiding the process. With the printable workbook, you’ll define your purpose, plus it includes a step-by-step action plan, with completion dates for each goal.

Through the process you can decide on a realistic time-frame & the necessary actions to achieve each goal. The clarity gained from our first step will also help you identify past distractions & how to improve.

Quick Tips:

  • Set monthly and quarterly goal reviews to assess how you are doing, & how to improve.
  • If for any reason, you don’t achieve your goals within the timeline, work out the reasons why…
  • Set a new deadline to complete your goal.
  • When reviewing your 2021 goals, you may find that what’s important to you has evolved… Adjust your goals & action plans accordingly.
Develop New Habits With These Free Apps

Are your current habits supportive of the 2021 goals you hope to achieve? For 2021 to be different, we are going to have to do some things differently…

2021 Goals

Developing a new habit takes time and consistent efforts. And sometimes we need a little help to get there. Thankfully, these days you can find a free App for just about anything…

Wake up earlier: Alarmy

Get the Alarmy App to help you wake up, if like me you’ve mastered the snooze button.

Alarmy makes it impossible to snooze, because you have to solve a complex Math problem before it can stop sounding off. By the time you are done, your brain is up & ready to go!

Establish a morning routine:

The Transform My Morning App helps you begin with a few rituals that will set you up for a victorious day! It includes sections like: Affirmations, exercise, visualizations, scribing (journaling), reading and silence. You’ll get to personalize each section in a way that feels right & works with your schedule.

Track your goals:

Often times we fail to accomplish our goals, because ‘life gets in the way’ and we forget them altogether.

With the Todoist App, you can keep track of your goals’ progress from your phone. It allows you to schedule, track and manage tasks.

>>Key in your action items, plus the completion dates and tick things off as you go. Todoist will send notifications as the deadlines close in.
