Hello my friends! 🙂 How are you coping? Today we are pausing to catch a much-needed breath with a Taking Stock post..
So kick off your shoes, grab a hot (or cold) cup of something and let’s check in, shall we?
If this is your first time on Scrapbook Journeys, feel at home. 🙂 In these Taking Stock posts, we get up close and personal as we take a break from our usual travel adventures.
P.S. You can catch up with our recent & past travel posts by clicking on the Travel Tab at the top of the Menu bar.
Before we start, I would love for us to pause right here & do a 1 minute check-in. Take a moment to breath in, count to 5, then breath out as you slowly count down from 5 to 1. Check in with your thoughts and feelings for a few minutes, like really- how are you doing?
>>Be compassionate with yourself on whatever comes up…
>>If it feels too heavy to bear alone, consider sharing with someone you trust, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. 🙂
I don’t know what life’s been like for you lately or what you are dealing with… I do want you to know- you are not alone. 🙂
The past few weeks have been a roller-coaster in that unpredictable, can’t fit it in a box & hardly-a-straight-line, kind of ride that life tends to be… And honestly speaking, I am still processing. I will hopefully share the lessons/takeaways in future Taking Stock posts.
I find that when I check-in like this, something might come up that’s been nagging/sitting in my subconscious… And by addressing it, I find the clarity & space of mind to focus on the present.
I hope that with this small exercise and the resources mentioned below, you’ll find something useful to help you check-in. 🙂

Taking Stock March
Buying: Into the idea of shaving off all my hair. The temptation is strong! 😀
Craving: The sound of a river or the crashing of waves… Beach, is that you calling?!
Cooking: Oats for breakfast. Send help! 😀
Drinking: Kericho Gold’s Apple & cinnamon specialty tea… delightful!
Eating: Pineapples more often.
- Did you know that sprinkling salt on your pineapple slices kills the acidity, making it easier on your tongue? Try it! 🙂
Enjoying: The stories of how women are taking up space in the world and choosing to challenge oppressive beliefs/norms/practices while creating better spaces for future generations of women.
Feeling: Grateful. 🙂
Learning: The importance of being present in the lives of the ones we love. That call or text to check-in could make all the difference in the world.
Listening: To the tracks on my friend Vincent Claudius’ new EP titled: Rnb Hearted. 😀
You can listen to it HERE.
Looking: Forward to seeing my baby nieces and nephew, soon hopefully!!
Making: My 2021 vision board, because it’s never too late to get started!
Missing: The joys of traveling without worrying about getting sick.
Noticing: How fast this year is gliding by. Can you believe it’s nearly Mid-March already?
Reading: The Books of the New Testament in the Bible and determined to finish The Success Principle by Jack Canfield.
What books are you currently reading? I’d love to hear your book recommendations below. 🙂
Thinking: About the resilience we’ve shown in the past 1 year as a human race. Wow!
Wanting: To travel to many beautiful places this year, hopefully without Covid-19 hanging over our heads!
Watching: The Tume$ota Podcast episodes on YouTube, hosted by my young, super-talented friend Amira Okundi and her companions Pauline and Abigael.
It’s a great space to learn about managing life and finances. 🙂
>> I’d recommend checking out their latest episode on relationships & money.
Wishing: For a good, better… in fact, the best experience in 2021, for all of us.
Working: On some exciting travel and lifestyle content ideas. 🙂
