Happy New Month! π Can you believe it’s September already? Whoa, feels like the days are running away from us… And so what better time than now to pause and check-in while Taking Stock, ay?
To be honest, there are times when writing comes more easily than others… Well, today happens to be one of those days when I am struggling to find the words to put down.
However, I am working on being consistent, and sometimes that means showing up like this- even when the words feel ‘slightly unfinished.’ π
In the recent past, our Taking Stock posts have also been an opportunity to reflect on Lifestyle topics like mental wellness and self-care… I genuinely enjoy creating that kind of content. Thanks to such days though, I am learning that it’s okay to keep it light and easy too.
That said, it is awesome to have YOU here! Thank you for showing up to read our rather ‘light’ Taking Stock post! Enjoy!! π
Taking Stock September 2021
Buying: Less!
Craving: A road-trip! Does this even ever change? π
Cooking: Better versions of ugali by the day! I don’t know how everyone makes it look so easy… It is a journey! Lol.
Drinking: Black tea. I miss that true rich African tea, brewed with milk and a perfect touch of Masala… Ah but lactose! Sigh.
Eating: Sweet potatoes for breakfast.
Enjoying: The Nairobi weather… when it chooses to behave. π

Feeling: Grateful for my family. Always.
Hoping: For many mind-blowing trips before the end of this year.
Learning: To pay attention to my thoughts and replace any ‘impostor-driven thoughts’ with truth…
Tip:
Check out our last Taking Stock Post> Taking Stock August + 5 Tips To Overcome The Impostor Syndrome
Listening: To a playlist called: βVirtual Hugsβ on Apple Music, and it feels like getting a thousand tiny little hugs. Argh, I love it here! π

Looking: For inspiration. And a song… You know that feeling when there’s a song in your head but you don’t know the title or any of the words, but you really want to hear it? I’ve been going through that and it’s eating me up. Haha. Wish me luck! π
Making: A list of the things Iβd like to get done over the next 4 months, God willing.
Missing: Being on the road.
Noticing: How much nicer Nairobi people get, when the weather is warmer.
Praying: For this ‘Covid-19’ season to pass quickly. For the people whoβve lost loved ones, and for anyone who is going through it right now… Sending virtual hugs your way. π
Reading: This recently released copy of #MIRROR by my good friend Stom Wabuko.
If you havenβt grabbed your copy, what are you waiting for?

Tip:
While you are at it… check out Stom’s new track MISFITS on YouTube. It is such a bop! π
Thinking: About how we hardly notice some parts of the body like our teeth, until something goes wrong and then it’s all you can think about… Eh, God bless Dentists!
Wanting: To go to Namibia. I will keep putting it out there until it happens. π
And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. ~Paulo Coelho
Watching: Episodes of Biko Zulu’s: The Singletons on YouTube. I particularly enjoyed Sanaipei Tande and Bien Baraza’s candid storytelling. π
Wishing: For a productive month, filled with the best times for us all!

Working: On getting back to my Yoga routine. Taking it one day at a time. π
Thank you for reading! π I hope you enjoyed this Taking Stock Post! I’d love to hear back from you… Do leave a comment down below with your questions/ inputs and I’ll be certain to respond. π
Until the next one….
