Happy 2022 my friends! ๐ It’s been a while… How is your New Year coming along? Feels good to be back! So, let’s start this off on a high note with a Taking Stock post as we also explore 5 easy ways to level up in 2022…
I can hardly believe that both New Year Day & the month of January have come and gone… Can you believe it?
As the year grows ‘older’, life can begin to feel mundane, like a never-ending cycle of mornings, afternoons and evenings. Before we know it, our New Year Goals, resolutions or commitments fade into oblivion… ย
But I can almost bet on this: you want this year to be different- right? So let’s make a commitment, right here, right now -you and me…
Let’s commit to building new habits that support a different lifestyle.

5 Easy Ways To Level Up In 2022!
Make Life Exciting: Develop New Interests!
What are you currently doing, that adds excitement to your life? Think about it for a moment…
Life is not meant to be this one big struggle, and then we die.
This year, purpose to add more LIFE to your life. Find the things that call to your soul and do them. Learn something new. Try that thing you’ve always been too scared to try… We don’t get a second chance at life, so make this one count! ๐
When you start to do whatever makes you feel most alive, you’ll show up in a better way for your obligations: your work, family, friendships.
Are You in?

Practice Saying Your NO.
Stop again for a moment, and look at the items on your agenda for the day/week/month… How many of those things did you intentionally agree to? Are you constantly busy and feeling overwhelmed, with lots to juggle?
You might find that some items & commitments on your agenda, do not align with your goals or essential values…
Moreover, if you can’t do it to your best, at a 100% level, is it worth taking on? Perhaps you can delegate some activities?
Be intentional about how you spend your time & what you commit to. It’s okay to say NO. Saying no, frees you up to focus on what matters, and to do it really well.

Say YES to life!
Sounds like a bit of a contradiction to the last point, doesn’t it? Bear with me a while. ๐
You might be on the other end of the spectrum… Living a ‘safe life’ by not saying yes to what truly matters… Think about it. Could you be passing up opportunities out of fear? Mayhaps, it’s the Impostor syndrome making you feel like you aren’t good enough?
Well, that voice is not a reflection of the truth… I dare say, you are more than enough. You do have what it takes.
Start saying Yes to adventure, say Yes to that new job, say yes to relocating… Whatever it is, if it is in alignment, say YES to it.

Stack Up Your Wins.
Our minds tend to remember the negative things, more than the positive. If you monitor your thoughts, you are more likely to recall what things went wrong.
It takes more effort to remember what did go right… So, how about giving your mind a little help, ay? ๐
This year, endeavour to keep a gratitude journal. Before going to bed, write down your accomplishments and what you feel grateful for. You might also want to jot down your answered prayers. Nothing is too small for this list…

Make a habit of reviewing your journal often, to remind yourself of the good. This will build your confidence & energise you to keep going. It will come in handy especially when things get tough.

Prioritise Time For Rest
As 2021 was coming to an end, I suffered a serious bout of burnout. I felt completely tapped-out. Being a self-employed Content Creator, making the decision to intentionally take a break, felt scary. It forced me to come to terms with my truth: I’d been trying to play God’s role in my life & to carry the weight of everything on my shoulders.
Honestly, even as I write this, I am still learning how to let go of the ‘need to control the outcomes’. Still, it’s been really helpful to take a step back & allow for rest. ๐
What is your situation… Do you make time for rest?
This year, let’s intentionally make time to rest. We don’t have to wait until our bodies and minds crash. Start by making self-care a priority.
Consider starting small and work your way to planning retreats away from the world by yourself or with loved ones.
However it looks like to you, prioritise time to rest and often. ๐
