Hello and Happy New Month my friends! 😀 Wow we’ve made it through 5 months of 2022! Let’s start this one off with a Taking Stock post, shall we?
As you may have noticed, we’ve been on a hiatus here on Scrapbook Journeys… And it feels good to be back; a little scary to be honest- but good all the same. Scary because some part of me feels like I may have forgotten what it means to write here… However, I am soldiering through that fear and doing it anyway! 🙂
I think this is the perfect time for us to pause and take stock of the year 2022 so far. Hopefully, that knowledge will offer us some insights into how to make the rest of this year great…

When Taking Stock: Apply Grace Without Judgement
Taking stock can be a personal journey, as you go back to review your progress on the goals and commitments you set for yourself when the year began.
I believe that the key to taking stock, is approaching the process without judgement. Be kind to yourself. Allow yourself to acknowledge the areas where you might need change things up and to improve.
Most importantly, take note of your wins and achievements. Celebrate them, no matter how small. 🙂

Redefine What Greatness & Success Means To You…
Ask yourself: have my values changed? Perhaps your goal posts have changed too… What does success mean to you now?
Taking the time to explore these questions without judgement, gives you the freedom to be honest and true to yourself. We are constantly growing and evolving; taking stock helps reconcile and bring clarity to who we are becoming vs. who we’ve been.

For instance, when the year began, my goal was to blog every single week with a few breaks in between. However, as the year progressed, it became imperative that I prioritise my mental wellness. That meant taking a break from blogging to recharge and redefine what’s important. This also freed me up to zone in on some of the other commitments I’d made.
Even as I write this, I am learning to pace myself, while also giving my best in everything I commit to.
Take some time to reflect on the past 5 months…
- What lessons have you learned about yourself this year?
- How can you change things up to make the rest of 2022 a great year for you?
- How is your idea of success tied to other people’s expectations and values?
- And what does greatness look like for you?

I believe in you. You are doing an amazing job, and you have what it takes to make this your best year yet. Cheers to all of us, and cheers to an incredible second half of 2022! 😀
