Hello and Happy 2024 my friends! Long time no see/read, ay? Well, I genuinely thank you for making it here… How about we reconnect and reset with this Taking Stock February Post? Read on…
The Best is
Yet to Come Here!
I love going into each New Year with the mindset that the ‘Best is yet to come’! This year though, I am thinking that we need to change it up a little bit. How about we focus on how good the present is?
Bust first… As I write this, I am well-aware that we are all in different spaces and phases… and that is okay. Your current situation may not feel like the ‘best’… Perhaps it looks like grief or financial uncertainty. I hear you and I feel you. Your feelings are valid.
I sincerely hope that, slowly but surely, the best will make its way to you. Keep the faith. The clouds will pass. And the sun will shine on you again my friend, you are not alone. Sending lots of hugs.
Perhaps you are on the other end of the coin… Your year has started out great and you feel as optimistic as it gets. Take a moment to relish that feeling. Yes, stop right there and right now… Allow yourself to take it in, enjoy where you are at. Give thanks. You deserve all the joy you feel. 🙂
Why Change the Message to: The Best is here?
I will be very honest with you… For a long time, I lived with the crippling fear of things going wrong. So, I never really allowed myself to be present or to enjoy the good moments. Fearing disappointment, I constantly lived with the question: what if it all falls apart?
It was easier to think- the best is yet to come, without really committing to anything. Hence, I mentally lived in the future, waiting for the best to come, while trying not to be too happy, just in case it was taken away.
And whenever things did fall apart, I told myself that it didn’t feel like such a ‘huge loss.’
Can you relate?
However, as it turned out… I was missing out on the beautiful little moments that add up to the ‘best.’
And no matter how much I feared or tried not to be ‘too happy’, that didn’t stop things from going wrong… Honestly, as I was Taking stock of my life, this realisation recently hit me like a tonne of bricks.
A Little Courage & Faith Will Get Us There…
I believe it’s time to change things around… And if you are like me, I invite you to take this leap too. 🙂
Since we’ve already tried living in fear and worrying about the future, and that only managed to steal our joy… Why not try a different approach this year?
What if we just allowed ourselves to find the good in each day/situation? And what if we allowed ourselves to find joy in those little, everyday moments? The best will inevitably come- yes, but here and now… this is good too.
Take the time to consider what that looks like for you, even in your present circumstances… I hope you find the courage to be present in the moments that 2024 brings your way.
May you have a wonderful New Year ahead, full of pleasant surprises!
I am fully engaged in the present moment. I release worry and embrace peace. Every day I bring more gratitude into my life.
